AcknowledgementsThe TeraShake 2.1 simulation was performed by scientists at the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) and researchers at San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) including Kim Olsen, Steve Day, J. Bernard Minster, Reagan Moore, and Yifeng Cui. Amit Chourasia suggested the data set to the contest committee and worked with Marcus Thiebaux and other scientists to get it and the questions into a format useful to the contest. Marcus was also involved in the data preparation for the simulation. Hunter Francoeur provided the data sets and format information. Philip Maechling coordinated the question-generation process as well as the overall dataset-sending process. Data storage and archiving provided by Data Central at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Steve Cutchin and Ken Nunes were the two patient and professional people I interacted with directly. |
